I work out of Birmingham running a one truck hotshot business. Tuesday of this week headed north on I75 about 40 miles south of Perry the dashboard on my new 3500 lit up and truck slowed to 62 mph. Called the nearest dealership and service department told me to come on by but because of holiday weekend would be next week before they could even take a look at it. I was pulling a 40 foot trailer with 4 deliveries scheduled for the next day. Next week was not going to work. Kept traveling north and found Hamby Chevrolet online. By the time I made it there, it was 4:15. Parked out front and ran to the service manager’s office and described my trouble. William Walker was on it immediately. He instructed me that we are up against the clock, they close at 5:00, to drop my trailer on the grassy area out front. and get him the truck asap. I did as instructed and handed over the truck about 4:30. William took it back into the service area immediately and I waited. By 4:50 William gave my the diagnostic results. I was getting electrical interference from either the electronic log system or the electric trailer brakes. Suggested I get those checked when I got home, that they had reset the truck electronic system and I was ready to go! Words escape me to adequately express the sincere gratitude for getting me back on the road. As my living comes from that truck rolling, I can’t afford to be out of commission for a week unexpectedly. William and the service department went above and beyond! I called a dealer closer to me at the time and service dept told me because of holiday weekend I could come by but it would be the following week before they could take a look at it. I was pulling a 40 ft trailer with 4 deliveries to make the next day. Found Hamby Chevrolet online and decided to limp to their location. Park out front about 4:15 and go to the service department manager’s office. He was immediately on it. He instructed that we are up against the clock, to pull on to the grassy area in front of the dealership, drop the trailer and bring him the truck asap. I did and into the service area he went with my truck. Determined I was having electrical feedback from either my electronic log or electric trailer brake system. Reset my truck electronics, suggested I get those 2 sources checked when I got back home and had me out the front gate before 5:00. Words escape me to adequately express my gratitude!! I make my living with this truck and being out of commission with a load on my trailer for a week would have severe consequences for me. Next time I need a truck, Hamby gets my business!! In Georgia for military assignment. A handyman recommended Hamby for my vehicle's service. I needed a fuel filter replacement. I called Service and a nice lady named Brandi gave me an appointment. I went in the day of appointment at 10 a.m. and she tested my truck and wrote up my paperwork. Work was completed and at 1043 a.m. she accompanied me to the cashier. There, the cashier with initials AH was quick and very nice as well. I mentioned to her, I liked her writing pen I used to sign paperwork. She gave the pen to me! I was so pleased with the service as well as the friendly and welcoming attitude. My Suburban is new, 2023, so I won't be buying anytime soon, but I will recommend family members to buy from Hamby Automotive. The people here made my day very pleasant!!!! Thank you!!
I was traveling from Florida to TN and had an issue with my 2018 Equinox. The shifter locked up and would not come out of park. Had the car towed to Hamby Sunday morning and stayed the night there. The next morning, as soon as they opened, I spoke with Brian the Service Manager and he said he would do his best to work me in. By 8:30 a mechanic was working on my car and by 10 am, it was finished and I was very pleased with not only the above way they stepped out to help me, but the time in doing so. My hat is off to Hamby Chevrolet and their employee's. Excellent service! Thank you again!
I have a 2005 Silverado with electrical problems others could not figure out. The dealerships in Macon were no help. They wouldn't even talk about it because they don't want to work on anything more than 10 or 12 years old. Terri and Brandi at Hamby were very helpful when I explained my situation and they said they would try to find the problem for me and they did. I had been trying to find a new GMC Sierra and looked everywhere, I found one at Hamby in Perry ga. This dealership is about 75 miles from my home. When I pulled onto their lot, My salesman Mr. Willie Stripling, walked out of the dealership and met me immediately. Pleasant personality and very knowledgeable of the vehicle. Everyone was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. No pressure whatsoever. Best auto buying experience ever, and I have bought a lot of vehicles in my life. I recommend this dealership to anyone wanting to purchase a vehicle. They are the best
My husband and I purchased a pre owned truck from Hamby. My husband noticed that the truck had a vibration at 65-70 mph during the test drive. The salesman, Willie, reassured us that the vibration would be fixed. It was documented in the paperwork. After 3 trips to the dealership and spending several hours waiting, the vibration is still there. The truck had newer All Terrain tires. We were assured that the tires were good, and the truck had been looked over by their certified mechanics. After these the visits, the problem is not resolved. The dealership only offered to replace the All Terrain tires with street tires from the warehouse. We paid well over $60,000 for this truck. The price reflects the all terrain tires that we liked, not a street tire. The dealership refused to replace the tires with comparable ones. If the certified mechanics drove this truck prior to it being placed on the lot, they knew there was a problem and did not resolve it. The General Manager, Boris Kostovetsky, said he couldn’t do anything other than replace the tires with the street tires. For a company who repeatedly told us that they take pride in doing fair business their actions don’t reflect this. They even made several comments about another GM dealership and their unfair business dealings. We had planned to return soon to purchase a Tahoe, but we will go elsewhere. Beware if you find an issue during a test drive. They will document the issue and reassure you that it will be fixed. It may not be fixed to your satisfaction.
Went in for factory recall on airbag and decided to get oil change too - after - oil was leaking from oil filter and oil plug - both were loose - awful experience at Hamby Chev in Perry - less than 1 star review for me
I would like to apologize for my rude review a year or two ago. I take a ton of medicine. I really think Hamby are great people.
Absolute horrible experience! After reading all the reviews on Hamby it further questions why my experience was so poor. I brought in my 1 of 5 2009 ZRI with 9,900 miles on it. My wife and I are relocating back to the Georgia area. My clutch failed during a Friday afternoon drive. The tow driver recommended Hamby Chevrolet so I decided to try them. We delivered my ZR1 and was greeted with a cold attitude and a statement, "just drop your car off". I was shocked and left with not many options at 5:00pm on a Friday. I expressed multiple times, could you please prioritize my ZR1 to complete it and possibly store it inside as it waits. That question was met with a quick NO, we don't have room. As a dealership with an empty showroom should surely understand a rare ZR1 in like new condition can be used as a marketing tool. Continuing with this terrible experience, I contacted Hamby on Monday for a status update that ended with a non-interest in fixing my car a priority. The saga went on through a complete week while my ZR1 sat through two weekends while sitting outside through a storm. My ZR1 has never stayed outside in its 9,900 miles. I contacted Hamby service every other day to get an update on my vehicle and drove by multiple times to witness my car sitting in the parking lot. When I picked up my ZR1 I stopped at the service department to get waved away to go to the cashier. There was no warm welcome and explanation of the service provided to my vehicle. Additionally, after inspecting my ZR1, I discovered a few minor scratches and handprints on the fender as if the mechanic didn't use a protective cover. Further, I was charged 25% more than the quoted towing price provided by the tow company. I expressed to both the service department and tow driver that I would prefer to pay for the tow when I dropped my car off. They assured me it was not a problem to pay for the tow through Hamby service invoice. Sure was ok with a 25% markup! I advise anyone with a high-end Corvette or any high-end vehicle not to take it to Hamby service department. From the ratings on line, my experience could have an unknown factor that may be limited to only a few. Please explain why my experience resulted so poorly.
Awesome customer service. Took my 2017 Cadillac CTS for scheduled oil and tire rotation service. Was met with a smile .They went over all the scheduled maintenance before taking it back. I explained that I had a bad CUE display that needed looked at. Quick service done professionally. Car was as clean as when I arrived. No smudge marks,or oily finger prints. Upon going over my work sheet for the total I was told that the CUE display was indeed bad and that they had already ordered a new one and all was covered under warranty. I've bought new vehicles from Hamby's and get service done there. By far, hands down no better place for all your vehicle needs!!

I felt welcomed the moment that I walked into the dealership. I requested a test drive on line for a 2015 Chevy Colorado. The vehicle was ready to go once I arrived. The staff was very professional and attentive. I enjoyed my time spent at Hamby and will return there for future vehicle purchases.
